State Bank of India and its Associate Banks Special Management Executives Exam Details

The Bank also makes direct recruitment to the Middle Management grades. The post offers faster growth opportunities to the right candidate. There are two types of posts under this recruitment.
I. Special Management Executive (Banking) – MMGS III
II. Special Management Executive (Banking) – MMGS II


Eligibility Criteria
Special Management Executive (Banking) – MMGS III
i. Educational Qualifications: CA/ ICWA/ ACS/MBA/ MMS/ PGDBA/ PGPM/ PGDM (The course should be of 2 years full-time duration. Courses completed through correspondence/part-time are not eligible. 
Minimum 60% marks in Graduation and MBA/ MMS/ PGDBA/ PGPM/ PGDM (In case of CA/ ICWA/ ACS, passing the respective examination is sufficient) 

ii. Post Qualification Experience (As on the date mentioned in notification) 
Minimum 5 years post qualification experience as on the date mentioned in notification as an executive in Supervisory/ Management role in: 
a) A schedule Commercial Bank/ Associate or subsidiary of a Schedule Commercial Bank (OR) 
b) A public sector/ listed Financial Institution/company. 

iii. Age: 
Minimum Age: 25 years; 
Maximum Age: 35 years (As on the date mentioned in notification). 

Special Management Executive (Banking) – MMGS II
i. Educational Qualifications: CA/ ICWA/ ACS/MBA/ MMS/ PGDBA/ PGPM/ PGDM (The course should be of 2 years full-time duration. Courses completed through correspondence/part-time are not eligible.

iii. Age: 
Minimum Age: 25 years;

Selection Procedure: 
A selection of candidates will be on the basis of examination, group discussion and interview. Phase-I: Online examination consisting objective test for 200 marks and descriptive test for 50 marks. Both the tests will be online. Candidates will be required to answer their descriptive test also online

Candidates are required to qualify in each of the objective tests by securing minimum passing marks, which will be decided by the bank. 

Descriptive test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in each of the objective tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in the objective test. Candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive test by securing minimum passing marks, which will be decided by the bank. 

Phase II
Group Discussion (20 Marks) & Interview (30) MarksThe aggregate marks of objective test and descriptive test of the qualified candidates will be arranged in descending order of merit and only candidate’s maximum three times the number of vacancies in each category will be called for group discussion and interview. The qualifying marks in group discussion and Interview will be as decided by the bank. 

Final SelectionThe candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-I and Phase-II separately. 
Marks secured by the candidates in the Written Test (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Discussion & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Examination and Group Discussion & Interview out of 100 for each category. 
The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category. 

Emoluments: The scales of pay applicable to different grades are furnished above. The officials will also be eligible for DA, HRA and CCA as per rule in force from time to time. The compensation per annum at Mumbai is around Rs.12 Lakhs for an officer of MMGS - III and 10 Lakhs for MMGS - II.

In addition, the officers are also entitled to other benefits like –
(i) Medical Aid for self (100%) and for family (75%)
(ii) Home Travel Concession/Leave Fare Concession
(iii) Concessional Interest Rates for Housing/Car/Personal Loans
(Note: The salary scales are under revision) 

Career Path: Probation period for both the posts will be 1 year from date of joining. After completion of probation period successfully, the officers will be confirmed in respective grades and will be governed by extant specialist cadre placement and promotion policy. The officers can opt for conversion to General Cadre after completion of five years including probation period. 

In case of conversion to General Cadre, the seniority of the officers in specialist cadre will be protected for all future promotion.
